Welcome to the EIS Newsletter - 2024/25 - Issue No. 8!

It was a pleasure to see many of you on Thursday for our Autumn Festival and, indeed, for our Y5 coffee morning assembly! The former was our first whole-school event with parents present so it was nice to see such a wonderful day take off the way it did. Thank you, Ms. Oxana and Ms. Anna; as usual you delivered the goods. And excellent participation from students, adults and teachers alike. I would also like to thank Ms. Nura and the team for the wonderful decorations around the building. As ever, there are things we will tweak for next year but I would say it is probably our best yet. Well done, everyone!

Congratulations to the following for these festival awards (costumes were voted by teachers and doors voted by parents):

Best Primary Costume - Sara Y6
Best Secondary Costume - Sasha & Sasha Y13
Best Adult Costume - Ms. Irina Y4 (TA)
Best Primary Door - Year 4 (2nd place was Y6)
Best Secondary Door - KS5 (2nd place was Y9)

I mentioned Year 5's assembly earlier so let us return to that subject; it was our second coffee morning assembly of the year and another great success, with the theme of the assembly being personal health, entitled, 'Take Care of Yourself!' That is something that we all must do and the gang looked at the importance of hygiene, exercise, diet, sleep and other things. Year 5 are doing so well this year; we are all pleased with their efforts and outcomes. I know Ms. Aida and Ms. Nastya are very satisfied, in particular. An excellent, entertaining assembly Y5, congratulations!

A very good start to Autumn 2 and we have a big run-in towards Christmas now. It will get very hectic but it is always my favourite time of the year so I intend to enjoy it, or at least remind myself to! There is a lot going on in the classroom with exams in Secondary and lots of other things but we will talk about those when we come to them.
