This summary uses Twitter data extracted via TAGS over the course of the conference (using official hashtag #ECCMID2022, other hashtags #ECCMID22 and #ECCMID) and Twitter handle @ESCMID. I supplemented these data with a subsequent search using terms ECCMID, European Congress of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases and Twitter handle @taescmid. I combined these searches into a NodeXL map. The analysis looks specifically at the 7 days from 22/4/2022 to 28/4/2022. The conference ran 23/4/2022 to 26/4/2022. 
This gives 6014 tweets and 18,064 retweets posted by 13,884 accounts (11,840 just retweeted, 1,384 just tweeted, 660 retweeted and tweeted). The top 30 accounts (by number of retweets received) are listed below. Overall 61 accounts received 80% of all retweets (from 1,491 tweets), while 1,220 accounts received no retweets (from 1,788 tweets). By the time of extract (30/4/2022) the tweets had received a total of 19,616 retweets. TAGS and NodeXL slightly under-identify individual retweets, so the total number of retweeters is likely to be a slight underestimate. The top 30 retweeters are shown below in the second table, showing that the top disseminators of information were not always the top tweeters - we need both types of influencers at a conference. 
I have written up methods on how to extract tweets from NodeXL data previously. I used a modified method for ECCMID2022 that allows quicker analysis (see end of this summary for details). I selected tweets based on the following rules:
22/4/2022 - at least 5 retweets (n=11 tweets)
23/4/2022 - at least 9 retweets (n=50 tweets)
24/4/2022 - at least 10 retweets (n=51 tweets)
25/4/2022 - at least 13 retweets (n=51 tweets)
26/4/2022 - at least 6 retweets (n=42 tweets)
27/4/2022 - at least 6 retweets (n=10 tweets)
28/4/2022 - at least 4 retweets (n=4 tweets)
This gives 219 tweets from 118 tweeters. Of note, 164 of these tweets included the #ECCMID2022 hashtag. Others used other terms such as @ECCMID or ECCMID, or replied to tweet using @ESCMID handle). Note that @ECCMID account has not been used since January 2016, so there is little value in using this in a tweet - much better to use the official conference hashtag #ECCMID2022. I have listed the resulting tweets chronologically. I have shown them without further editing, and I cannot speak for the accuracy of the views represented in the tweets. This summary is produced solely for interest and discussion rather than putting across a specific agenda.
