Equinox Precession Model is a handy, Java based application designed to illustrate the Copernican theory of Earth's orbit around the sun.
The top window shows a view from outside the celestial sphere. The simulation shows the moving Earth along with its axis or rotation and the line of sight from Earth, through Sun, to the Celestial Sphere. The end of the arrow indicates where, on the Celestial Sphere, Sun appears to be located as seen from Earth. The tilt of Earth's rotational axis (relative to the ecliptic plane) is adjustable. The bottom window shows the view of a portion of the sky (near the ecliptic) as seen by an observer on Earth.

The current study was designed to assess the effect of Kripalu yoga on stress and sleep disturbance by comparing yoga meditation training to a wait-list control group and to a healthy control group. We found participants trained in Kripalu yoga to show significantly lower levels of distress as measured by the Distress Scale and to experience fewer sleep disturbances as measured by the Sleep-22. We found no differences in sleep quality as measured by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. The data suggest that a brief Kripalu yoga training course can lead to improvements in distress and sleep quality.

Equinox Precession Model is a Java application to facilitate experiments related to the Copernican Theory. The model shows the influence of the Precession of the Equinoxes on the relative location of celestial bodies in the sky as viewed by an observer on the surface of the Earth.
Equinox Precession Model Comments: The model shows the location of the Sun and the Earth on the celestial sphere as observed from Earth. The Sun is located in the ecliptic plane, which is inclined at an angle to the Earth’s equatorial plane. The Earth is located in the ecliptic plane. This can be viewed as an experiment in which Earth and the starry background are assumed to be fixed, while the Sun is allowed to move along the ecliptic. The model is intended to illustrate the following points:
• The equinox is the point on the celestial sphere where the Sun appears to cross the celestial equator, following the ecliptic plane.
• Equinoxes are fixed in the ecliptic plane, while the planet Earth moves around the Sun.
• Given that the Earth and the stars are in the ecliptic plane, the change in the ecliptic longitude is equivalent to the change in the location of the Sun along the celestial equator.
• The Earth’s axis rotates about the center of the Earth. The axis is tilted with respect to the equatorial plane of the planet. The angle of tilt has been measured at about 23.5 degrees.
• An observer on the surface of the Earth sees the Sun and the stars moving along the celestial equator, but the stars are fixed in space.
• The angle of tilt of the Earth’s axis with respect to the ecliptic plane is used to determine the direction of Earth’s orbit around the Sun.
