Highlights from NYU's 186th Commencement

Each May, New York City is filled with excited NYU graduates in their violet robes roaming the streets, smiles on their faces and tassels in tow. Despite a wet week (good thing the umbrella emoji is violet!), this year was no exception. The evening before Commencement the New York City skyline beamed with #VioletPride as the Empire State Building shone violet, a favorite NYU tradition.  The next morning, the subways were flooded with NYU graduates as the Class of 2018 made its way to Yankee Stadium to celebrate the University's 186th Commencement Exercises. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada and Commencement speaker for the day imparted words of wisdom on the new graduates as they begin the next step in their journeys.
