Nurture a love of reading and learning with eBooks and encourage students to read topics they find interesting.

Feel free to ask students to select specific titles that correspond to the content you are currently teaching.

Many eBook sites provide additional supports for differentiation -- interactivity, reading aloud, word tracking. Additionally, they may provide some titles in Spanish or other native languages to support your ELL students. Another benefit is that they provide a wide range of topics and reading levels.

Suggest that parents take some time to read with their child or ask their child to summarize what they just read.

Students may be able to access ebooks and research resources at home directly through your school library catalog.

Your public library will be aware of and may post online information about statewide, countywide, or citywide resources that are available for free / accessible from home to your students.
