📣 Key Stage 1
YEAR 1. This week in Year 1 we have been reading the story of the Three Little Pigs. In small groups, we used stick puppets to help us re-tell the story, we sequenced pictures to re-tell the story and we have ordered and written sentences about the story, remembering to use capital letters, finger spaces and a full stop! In Maths we have been doubling numbers, finding one more, one less and even 2 more than a number. In Science we have continued looking at the body's senses. First, we did a taste test to describe tastes. Most of us liked the bitter dark chocolate best but we didn't really like the sour lemon. In Topic, we recalled our knowledge of human features from last week and walked around the local area looking for these features. We found many human features including a shop, some playgrounds and a school. We have also started looking at and identifying physical features. 
YEAR 2. This week Year 2 have been very busy! In Maths we have learnt about right angles (test, test and test again!), symmetry and 2D shapes. In PSHE we designed our own comic book page all about falling out with our friends but patching things up and being friends again. In Topic, we learnt about recreation and tourism at sea; particularly, crusie ships. We looked at the most expensive examples in the world and even designed our own - all fitted with gyms, saunas, restaurants, swimming pools and even casinos!  
MUSIC. Year 1 were creating and performing a steady beat in patterns of 2, 3 and 4. They accompanied their singing with percussion instruments. Year 2 were leaning to control changing tempo and playing on percussion instruments from the score in a 4-beat metre.
