orrey or other format? For example: convert divx to mp3 or convert xvid to mpeg 4. Its impossible to be 100% sure the quality will be good since its dvd rips but the question is do you have a better alternative? Here is what I have found so far:
I've been ripping blu-rays to HD-DVD rips with no problem. I'm using the "BD-J" ripper. It works with both mkv and mpeg-4 video. I always rip the main movie and then a black screen with subtitles if there are any, in case of commercial breaks (this is quite common on movies).
So if you're in doubt, I'd suggest using the "BD-J" ripper. It's free.
If you're having problems with the quality or the subtitles (don't get them if you don't want), try other rippers.
I was using the same one you are. It was perfect. I haven't checked that ripper though but I guess it has been recommended a lot.
I was ripped to mkv using the bd j. Then a friend wanted hd dvd so I uploaded them to the sharing sites I mentioned. Are they good quality?
They're not the best quality I've seen. If you want them for HD-DVD though, you're going to have to settle for the average quality. HD-DVD players are a lot more demanding of video than regular DVD players. You can get HD-DVD rips that are much better in quality than those.
