The advantage of TinEye is that you can submit an image, found through the search page, via the URL of the page where the image resides, making it easy to either download the entire webpage where the image is found, or just access the image itself.
You can also upload a website to TinEye's server and then search the whole thing for images that appear on that page.
You do have to account for servers that do not allow direct access to images, but the good news is that TinEye has a lot of indexes around the world, and servers allow us to fill them.
To complete the search, select one of the indexes, then click the respective icon, to start the search.
If you have a lot of images, it might be a good idea to use TinEye's batch upload feature to try to limit the load on your server and to perhaps automatically locate the images in different websites, search engines or forums.

This is a very useful tool that is the reason I have tinkered with the program. I work in printing and quite often have to go to a company to take pictures of shirts/devices, etc. I am able to use TinEye to search for the colors, patterns, etc. that I am looking for. I took a picture of our Product Development Manager's shirt and used TinEye to get the exact color of his shirt. I did a custom search for him and printed out a profile to keep. He thinks it's really cool!
I have also used TinEye to find out if someone has made a "modified" version of a design online.
TinEye is free to use as long as you want to use it. You can log in and use it for free without even needing a credit card. The information is only stored on the TinEye servers, so they are pretty safe. I haven't found anything wrong yet.

So far TinEye has been a life-saver for me. I use it mostly for printing out and color matching photos, and searching for the names of individual pieces of equipment. I found it via Movaun, and it has been a life-saver!
I use it for a variety of purposes. Actually, I often see it used to search for photos of people, and the stories behind them, and I like it, because it's a cool little site and I find it's usually accurate!
Also, it's a good friend in the social media world, and it's free and it can connect to your FB/Twit/Google+ accounts, so I often use it for that.Q:
