Tag Support Plugin For Media Player  (2022)
Extends Microsoft Media Player's library with additional support for popular audio file formats. It allows for playing of many popular audio formats (for example m4a, m4b, m4p, flac, ogg, ape, wav pack, optifrog, monkey's audio, ogg, mp+ and wav) using a built-in player or the Media Center control center.
The plugin will handle all of those formats using tag support, which is a technology integrated into the 'ID3' tag in popular file formats (for example AAC, FLAC, Monkey's Audio, MPC, Speex, OGG, WAV Pack, APE/APEv2, Monkey's Audio, Optim Frog, True Audio,...). Using tags, you can control all properties of an audio file, like its bitrate, key, length,... The plugin includes support for various tag readers, which can be installed to get the right functionality for your tags:
· 'libmodplug' (available for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows). It allows for reading of most common extensions of m4a, m4b, mp3, mpega and Monkey's Audio tags.
· 'aacmod' (available for Windows). It supports reading of all tags of Apple iTunes and iPod aac (m4a, m4b and m4p) files.
· 'id3' (available for Windows). It supports reading of most common tags of mp3, flac, speex and ogg files (automatically uses tag readers, installed by default).
· 'lame' (available for Linux, Mac OS X, Windows). It supports reading of most common tags of Monkey's Audio, True Audio and Ogg Vorbis.
· 'autodetect'. It automatically chooses the best reader to use for a given tag. You can deactivate the autodetect and specify your own reader.
