📣EYFS
It has been a strange, unusual week for EYFS as it was just EYFS and Year 1 in school this week. This did not stop them from having fun together, as games of Hide and Seek, football, cycling, playing in the den of leaves built by KS2 children last week kept them happy and occupied. 
This week we learned the “Pp” sound in phonics, learning how to form the letter ‘Pp’, singing the ‘Puff out the candles on the pink pig cake’ song and finding things that begin with ‘Pp’. In Numeracy, EYFS have begun recapping counting, this time going up to 20. They have also been introduced to the terms less, fewer, the same and more, using concrete objects and interactive whiteboard activities to develop their understanding of the vocabulary and new concepts taught. In our topic ‘Marvellous Me’ children have shared their favourite toy, book gift and told us more about it. Kian introduced us to a singing and talking Mr Potato Head this week. Children will continue sharing photographs of their families, introducing us to family members and telling us more about their families if they have not done so yet, as well as Show and Tell. We also observed the ‘magic’ beads return back to their normal size as the water evaporated and the beads dried up. EYFS thoroughly enjoyed the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and looked closely at the stalks of tomato plants, feeling the soil and watering the plants if the soil was dry. They seem to enjoy our Science related activities but remembering new vocabulary is slow- we aim to get better as our English improves. 
ART. Children love art and craft activities in Halloween. Paper jack-o-lanterns, black cats, bats, owl, witches, ghosts, spiders, ghosts, brooms, ghouls, spooky houses, pumpkins, crows are something children enjoy to create.  
With EYFS children we have made some wonderful pumpkin faces! Children were cutting the features of their pumpkins and glued it together.
