SQLCMD is a simple commandline application that you can use to execute SQL queries against a given database. If the database or connection does not exist SQLCMD will try to automatically create them.
Upon running SQLCMD, the user is provided with the following options:
-hhostname --sdbpath=path[.path] --connections -u[username] --password=[password]
If no username and password is provided, then the system will prompt the user for them:
Database Name: (please enter the name of the database to connect to)
Database User: (please enter the username used to connect to this database)
Connection Password: (please enter the password used to connect to this database)
-udatabase --pw=password --timeout=timeout[ms] --auth=authType --query=query
SQLCMD will now attempt to connect to the database using the information provided. If you wish to specify a username or password, you can instead enter the following (and if necessary add --pw and --auth)
--user=username --password=password
Database connection tables are not supported by SQLCMD.
SQLCMD can be used from the commandline via the following syntax:
SQLCMD [parameters] [options] [database [][pattern]] [command]
This will run command against the database or databases provided and if passed multiple databases will run command against all of those databases.
Please note, if the parameters given are empty strings then a database-pattern is assumed:

SQLCMD Usage
If you are connected to a database and wish to view the SQL commands on the server, you can use the interactive mode.

 is the SQL query to be executed.
