EYFS
EYFS looked great in their costumes as we celebrated a late Halloween on our first week back after the midterm break. Our class door display involved cutting skills as we cut out ghosts and pumpkins, while for art we made vampire bats.  
This week we learned the “Nn” sound in phonics, learning how to form the letter ‘Nn’, singing the ‘Hear the aeroplane’ song and finding things that begin with ‘Nn’. In Numeracy, EYFS have continued counting to 20 (and beyond for the children needing a challenge). They have counted out amounts and begun recording amounts in figures on whiteboards, while also comparing amounts more, less and the same. Our new topic this half term is ‘Celebrations’. We began our topic by looking at how we celebrate birthdays. The snowfall caused lots of excitement and resulted in a Science focus - children watched Petra’s little snowman melt due to the warmth indoors, making simple observations and explaining their observations.
