Annotate your photos
Let's say that you have a set of images that you would like to annotate with your personal ontology.
First, import the images into PhotoStuff Free Download.
You can either drag the images into PhotoStuff Product Key or select them from a local folder. By default, PhotoStuff will process the image name and make the name a link to the image on the web. If you want the image without the name, simply click the "Import selected image" button.
Choose your ontology
When you first import the images, PhotoStuff will prompt you to select a subject ontology. The ontologies available are Drupal's thematic ontologies which are based on the taxonomy knowledge base created by semantic media
These ontologies use the Drupal taxonomy vocabulary for annotation.
In addition to the Drupal ontologies, PhotoStuff can create its own set of ontologies. These ontologies can be used to annotate an image with respect to concepts other than objects, and can thus be used for non-photographic purposes.
A custom ontology is created by selecting the "Create my own Ontology" link.

The goal of PhotoStuff is to make image annotation easy and fun. Simply pick a concept of interest (e.g. ‘people’) and then click on an instance of that concept. PhotoStuff then draws a red circle around the instance in the image and automatically adds the concept name as a label to the circle. You can click on the annotated parts of the image to see more details, or use the ‘view image’ button to see the image itself.
PhotoStuff Variations:
There are many ways that PhotoStuff can be used. Currently, you can perform "local" annotation, where a segment of an image is labelled with a concept, or "global" annotation, where annotation is performed over the entire image.
PhotoStuff also lets you perform "merged" annotation, where a segment of a concept is annotated with another concept.
PhotoStuff comes with a number of built-in ontologies that you can add to the tool. We also provide a standard built-in interface for a number of ontologies from Wikipedia and ConceptNet. For this version of PhotoStuff, we only support concept-instance mappings.

Structure Retrieval
The goal of image annotation is to automatically recognize objects in images. Unfortunately, the sheer number of different objects in the world make it impossible for a program to recognize them all. However, by highlighting only objects of interest, PhotoStuff makes the problem of object recognition easier to solve. For example, imagine you are looking for a particular type of furniture in a large store. Normally, you would have to browse every item in the store to find the one that looks like your desired furniture. Instead, PhotoStuff only highlights the one object of interest, and you only need to view the corresponding region in order to find the object of interest.
Furthermore, the annotations that PhotoStuff produces can be used as training data to train models for fine-grained classification. With PhotoStuff, we are able to automatically generate training data for any object class.
