Using therapeutic techniques and strategies for optimal results, ISP promotes the functional development of physical, cognitive, speech-language, and sensory integrative skills. The basis of ISP promotes active role play, integrates, and facilitates developmentally based movement patterns, develops gross to fine motor coordination and control, addresses functional interaction with the environment while building sensory integrative foundation skills, and guides the child through the learning of self-awareness as they maneuver their body through space. Playful interaction, beginning in infancy, is crucial to a child's learning abilities, language, speech, and overall emotional balance.   Interactive story play (ISP) incorporates sensory integration through touch, movement, and body awareness within the realm of play.
