Should I avoid adding "affiliate" or "diamond" sites to my website as content?
Say I have a website as an affiliate (let's say Amazon, for the purpose of this question).
Should I avoid adding content to the website as content to see whether, in any way, it affects how often I am found in searches and (mostly) amazon.com? Or is the relationship between the two completely irrelevant? 
On one hand, if I was an affiliate for Quora, I would certainly avoid a question about Quora and add an answer myself linking to Quora. That way, it doesn't count against Quora and I would find it less likely to show up in the SERPs.
On the other hand, my website is not a product; it is a tool to help me communicate with my audience. That's why it would be silly to add content on Quora.
In other words:

In the context of an affiliate relationship, you can benefit from visibility on the pages / websites that are related to Amazon to get more visibility on related keywords for your products or other affiliate products.
Amazon is not completely irrelevant. It has a greater impact on search results than any external page on your website, with the exception of your home page. Of course, this is not guaranteed as I am not an expert on search optimization but I do understand why this is beneficial. Your homepage is the place to be in most cases (I am talking about quality content, not SEO). And the reason is simple. Your homepage ranks for up to 70% of SERPs.
If you have a page like:
example.com/amazon
And you have a page like
example.com/blog
..., which will get a better position in the rankings than if you instead had
example.com/blog/amazon
You should avoid this because more often than not, the user will go directly to the homepage.
The exception to this rule is if you post content on your website that covers a topic that is related to Amazon. Then the more related content you have, the better.

WinMTRCmd is an easy to use command line utility that helps you to run both traceroute and ping queries for any given IP address or domain. It is not a full blown router like mtr, but it is simple and easy to use even for beginners.
The program has to be deployed from the command prompt console and with the proper parameters you can test the network and see if there are any bottlenecks in establishing a connection to a specific address.
How it works:
The application works with a file that is saved locally called “mtr.dat”. This file contains all the data required to run a single traceroute or ping query. The file also contains the start and end point IP addresses, and the port number (80 if we are pinging a web server, 80, 80, 53, 389, 25, etc. for other special server) to be used in our query.
Since the program is just a simple text file, you can paste text and change parameters just by adding or removing the parameters of our query.
