This top tweet summary of posts using the #covid19uk hashtag follows a similar approach to previous months (see April summary here). It is based on a NodeXL extract for May 2021. It includes data from 6,647 tweets posted by 2,439 tweeters, receiving 7,470 retweets. Overall 76 (3.1%) tweeters received 80% of all retweets while 1,752 (72%) received no retweets. The summary below is produced from tweets by 73 tweeters. It lists the top 3 tweets per day for May 2021, but limiting to a maximum of three tweets per tweeter for the full period. As a result some days have tweets that received a small number of retweets. The aim was to achieve diversity of tweeters and message. There are, as usual, some useful and fact-based tweets, and other posts where the tweeters were either bandwagon jumping/ spam or spreading misinformation. I have included all the tweets based on the above rules, to produce a permanent record of these tweets in case this is useful for future analysis. 
I would reinforce that Covid-19 is a serious infection, that we are clearly not out of the woods yet, and we should continue to follow basic public health measures and local official advice. In Scotland the advice is:
wear a face covering
avoid crowded places
clean hands and surfaces regularly
stay 2m away from other people
self-isolate and get tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms
