The Artboard Resizer script resizes all artboards in a document by a specified factor, and the Artwork Colorizer script automatically fills shapes with different colors.
This is a great intro into Illustrator scripting for those who want to do more advanced scripting
In this chapter we’re going to use a new module, Artwork Colorizer.
We’ll change all the text on the page to a specific color, then we can change the color of any shape, rectangle, or text
if you’re not the best at colorizing imagery, you’ll like this script
The script also opens the file to give you a chance to have a second look at it
the script fills every shape (of type text, path, stroke, brush, or symbol) in your document with the desired color
First, we’ll need to establish the area of the document we want to modify.
The script has an input parameter which says how many pixels to resize the artboard by
so we’ll enter a value of 100 and click OK
to let Illustrator know that we want to resize the artboard by a specified number of pixels
Next, we’ll hide all the artboards except the artboard we want to change
to learn more about this script, take a look at the Support section at the bottom of the page
Script Options: We’ll use a value of 10 because we want to resize the artboard by 10% of the previous size
Click Save to tell the script that you want to save the script
first, we’ll need a script storage name and a script location
the script storage name is “JavaScript objects” and a new folder named “Illustrator”
This is the place where the scripts will be saved
so we’ll click OK
