When you import a gemstone data file, the program automatically prepares it into a good format, which you can edit as needed.
Report templates have been revised and improved. A new data entry interface is built into the template editor. You can add basic (e.g., “Carat,” “Color,” etc.) as well as detailed (e.g., “Specific Gravity,” “Gem Score,” “Opacity,” etc.) mineral data to an existing report.
A color chart has been added in the Mineral Info dialog. This chart is based on the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences’ color reference system and covers all gem colors.
A new field has been added to the mineral data entry interface. This field allows you to enter your personal notes on a gemstone.
A new “Gemstone” entry has been added to the Advanced Report dialog. This entry is used to link Report observations to gemstones.
A list of the most commonly used report fields has been added to the Report Fields tab of the Report Settings dialog.
Support for displaying report fields/subtotals (included in some templates) has been added.
When printing pages of a report, a new report heading is added to the top of each page.
The Mineral Info dialog and control has been revised to provide more functionality.
A new Field type entry has been added to the Advanced Report dialog. This entry allows you to specify custom field types for the report fields.
A better text editing interface has been implemented in the report templates.
If you are looking to improve your gemstone reports, the latest update is not for you. For those looking for a tool to organize and annotate reports, the app has been tweaked to be easier to navigate, but remains a gemstone manager, not a gemstone organizer.
