What is required is a Windows application that can connect to the daemon via port 81 and control a Windows computer. I am trying to do something similar with Linux.

I want to install this on a few computers and then use the remote control to remotely shutdown them at the press of a button.
This works fine. However I use it on a lot of laptops so it is annoying to have to enter the credentials every time you want to perform a shutdown.
Also, there is a slight delay between pressing the button and the actual shutdown.
I looked at the source but there is no way to put in the credentials when the program starts, so even if I could implement a'ssh-like' thing, I'd still need to enter the credentials.
Is there any way I can control computers remotely without them being password protected? The computer will be in a central network with other computers in it, so changing the default password isn't really an option.
You might also take a look at PsExec, which has a free version but that will allow you to create a script. That will be one way, but I'd be interested if anyone's already done this successfully.
