Certificate Presentation of the Junior Award.
 
The Duke Award, originates from the vision of empowering children to become more self-reliant and capable of facing everyday challenges. All students that take part in the Duke Award scheme are encouraged to complete a series of tasks and skills that are designed to foster independence and personal growth in children. The Duke Award scheme aligns closely to our school values and we are proud to be continuing the award process for another year.

This initiative is designed to encourage independence, confidence, resilience, and self-motivation in our students. The program comprises three levels: Micro Duke, Mini Duke, and Junior Duke, tailored for children aged 5 to 13. It offers a diverse array of challenges, encompassing essential life skills such as First Aid, ICT, Eco awareness, Drama, Music, Sports, as well as practical abilities like cookery and puncture repair.
 
To successfully complete each level, children must accomplish a specific number of challenges. While some skills will be taught in school, most challenges require significant time and effort outside of school, involving participation from friends and family. This holistic approach not only enriches their learning experience but also strengthens the bond between families.
 
Upon successful completion of a level, each child will be honoured with a certificate and badge, symbolising their achievements and dedication. We encourage children to complete their challenges within the school year. However, if a child's booklet remains incomplete by the end of the year, they have the option to continue working on it into the following year.

The Junior Duke certificates are presented on a monthly basis and this month's, certificates were presented to : Alexandra, Devanshi, Aarushi, Ifrah, Shantelle, Hasandi, Akshara, Riyaarth, Hamdy, Aaryan, Ayansh, Siddharth, and Tristan for their dedication and hard work in completing their Mini and Junior Duke booklets. Their awards are a testament to their commitment and effort.

To enrol your child in this transformative programme, please fill out the sign-up forms distributed on Sunday, October 1st. Completed forms should be returned to your child's class teacher by or on October 15th, 2023.
 
The total cost for participation in the Junior Duke Award is QR 100, covering registration, the cost of the badge, booklet, and certificate. We believe this investment in your child's personal development will yield lifelong benefits.
