Synopsis
The film opens with a child, Harsha, (Nirmal Nithi) as a child and a bird. Both of them live on the banks of the river Cauvery. Harsha plays a flute and sings a song of the river.
The story opens with Harsha (Nirmal Nithi) in rural Tamil Nadu. He works as a teacher in a local primary school. He is a carefree man who wants to live a simple life. He loves his sister so much and does not like getting married. He also does not get along well with his parents. He has a funny friend called Nuttamani (Renji Panicker) who is in a relationship with a movie actress. Harsha loves movies and becomes friends with the movie director Raju (Srikanth), who tells him his movies are not good.
Raju invites Harsha to a preview of a movie in Chennai, but the tickets for the movie are with Harsha's sister who is going to Chennai on a holiday. Harsha's sister gets angry at him and refuses to give the tickets. Harsha, instead of visiting the movie preview, stays back in Chennai and does not go to the opening of the movie.
