Summer maintenance and refurbishment
It has been an extremely busy few weeks for our maintenance team. The summer holidays, obviously, presents the longest period within the calendar year to work on our facilities and a large amount of work has taken place. The pandemic has presented us with several challenges in terms of finding good companies able to do the work required and my Facilities Manager Balint Rokas has worked tirelessly since November 2020 getting things organised and in place. This has probably been the most difficult summer, since my arrival in 2017, to schedule work but a vast array of jobs have been completed successfully, a remarkable achievement. To note a few:
Complete replacement of our electrics and electric cabinets
Complete replacement and refurbishment of our kitchen and canteen furniture, increasing seating capacity considerably and providing our kitchen staff with high tech modern equipment and storage facilities.
Transformation of our computer suite into a flexible ergonomic classroom
The creation of a new specialist EAL room for our little ones on the Garden corridor
Transformation of a 'hidden' room into an additional classroom
Refurbishment of the bathrooms on the garden corridor
Reflooring and decoration of the Primary corridor classrooms
Replacement of all external lighting
Installation of an external door directly out to our 'mural' garden
We still have work to do to complete our garden project and a few items in the canteen. These will take place over the next few weeks and months.
