Mail Redirect for Thunderbird is designed to allow you to forward any email. When it is forwarded, it contains almost full headers of the original message. That's why if you don't use Mailredirect, it is possible to make minor edit on original message and forward it to other person. But if you use Mailredirect, original message is not changed.
About Transforming Headers:
Mail Redirect for Thunderbird allows you to transform headers. If you mark any header as excluded (boolean value) it won't be changed.
Syntax:
--Header=value;another-value...
There are various types of headers in a message like:
From header (including subject)
To header (including recipients)
Subject header
Date header
Recepient:
Mail Redirect for Thunderbird permits to select additional recipients. If multiple recipients are selected, original message is forwarded to all the recipients. (You can define maximum number of recipients, so you're able to remove unwanted addresses).
Syntax:
--To=recipient1,recipient2,...
Mail Redirect for Thunderbird supports recipients in.txt format. But if multiple recipients are selected, original message is forwarded to all the recipients.
Examples:
"To:list.txt" - send redirected mail to the list.txt file
"To:list.txt;To:list2.txt" - send redirected mail to both the files
"To:recipient@web.mail.com,recipient2@mail.com,...."
There are three types of redirection that you can specify:
Forward
Bounce
Reply
Syntax:
--Forward=recipient1,recipient2,...
--Bounce=recipient1,recipient2,...
--Reply=recipient1,recipient2,...
If you select "Forward" or "Reply" redirection types then original headers are retained. Otherwise, if you select "Bounce" redirection type, original headers are changed but not retained.
In case of redirection many important headers are changed, so when you forward email or edit it as new, original headers are lost.
Using the Mailredirect extension when you select "Forward" or "Reply" redirection types is very useful, because it allows you to forward original email with almost full set of headers.

I use this addon because I use new hotmail.com, I like that I can receive mail as usual, but at the same time I forward messages to somebody else's email. It looks like original message received after forward/edit as new is transformed to different recipient.

You should enable Bitlocker on your home PC, because if not you would be at risk. Also you should enable Restore MBR Function in BIOS, this way you will have a windows install in case the boot table gets messed up by hiden, ransomware or virus.
