How to install?
You have to download the file and unzip it first.
Then run the setup.exe and install the software.

This guide was created to help you install and use the TS-Packet-Viewer with the minimum hassle possible.
First you need a transport stream. If you're recording a broadcast, that's easy. If you want to record an dvd, you need a DVD device. You can use a converter (transcoder) to create one from another format. You can convert between Divx and Xvid or from an AVI to an MP3.
What is needed for this project?
The TS-Packet-Viewer needs to find the transport stream, decrypt it, find the different program fragments like H264, AC3, SDH,... and reassemble them to video and audio. If you want to modify the transport stream you need an specific decoder. If you want to recover the stream from a folder, the machine has to be able to read.dat files.
You have to go to the folder where you want to save the files.
Open the.ds file of the folder.
You can only open this file in WinXP if you have the Windows-XP-Decrypt-Keys installed. Click here to download them.
Open the.dat file and save it to the same folder.
Find and download the crypted TS.
There are following options. If you're installing the program on the same computer where you are going to watch the recorded TV, choose the first one. If you want to watch the recorded file on another machine (eg: on your PC at home and a TV at work), choose the second one.
Install the.dat file
Double click on the.dat file.
You should see a new dialog box, asking the user to create some folders. You can create them by clicking on Create.
Optionally, you can create a subfolder for each of the files.
If you click on OK, the file will be extracted to a folder and you will see it there.
Find the files in the folder
You will find different folders, like ts or ts_decrypted. Double click on ts and ts_decrypted to see a list with all the files in the folder

TS-Packet-Viewer is a tool for viewing the metadata and the main packet data of transport streams.
It supports multiple streams and multiple programs. Every packet of the stream can be displayed. Each packet is represented by a rectangle. You can view the packet type (PES, H264, AC3,...), the PID, the picture type (normal, main picture,...) and the packet number (if supported). There are also several informations about the packet like the buffer level and the audio and video type (Audio only, Audio + video,...). You can also display the real packet data as Hex, Hex-Edit, ASCII or Pascal-Code.
TF-Packet-Viewer is the source for this tool.

This tool is not working on all Windows versions.
If you're using Windows XP SP2 you have to install ActiveTcl 8.4.2.
If you're using Windows Vista, you have to install the following Microsoft Patches:
