Euphonios (, flourished 3rd century BC) of Leontopolis was an Egyptian Greek physician of ancient Egypt, the first to write on medical ethics.
He is said to have written (after Hippocrates) the Pneumatics and Galenical Art, and to have given, according to Galen, the first systematic definition of the elements of medicine. Erythraeus of Alexandria, who wrote against Hippocrates, accused Euphonios of fraud; while Galen himself, in his Natural History, says that it is uncertain whether the author was Euphonios or Erythraeus. He does not mention Hippocrates, though Hippocrates may have existed; and the ancient name Erythraeus suggests that he was an Athenian. The same Erythraeus is also called Archedemocritus.
