Welcome to the EIS Newsletter Edition, Issue No. 22!
 
This will be a shorter newsletter edition due to it being a shorter week. Happy International Women's Day (IWD) to all the ladies reading this! I still wanted to do the newsletter so we can add photos from Thursday afternoon's IWD performance. It was a wonderful occasion. 
 
As mentioned, it was a shorter week but I still managed a couple of Headteacher Awards this week and for very good reason:

Laiba Y6 - for her bag she created in sewing club; she actually uses it daily. 
Maja Y6 - Maja spent 2 hours drawing a new logo to go up on the display board outside my office.

Just because it was a shorter week, that's not to say I do not see any great teaching and learning taking place because I certainly did. I popped into EYFS on Tuesday morning and managed to see Ms. Irina conduct a session a dental hygiene. Ms. Irina's daughter is a dentist and, kindly, supplied Ms. Irina with some wonderful resources to help teach our youngest cohort how to brush our teeth, how often and why. I managed to snap some nice photos. Well done, EYFS, keep smiling!

I also managed to have a peek at some wonderful work taking place in Year 1 with Ms. Martin and Ms. Indira. I have to say, this cohort are really performing. Many are tackling work of Year 2 standards at Year 2 quality. It's a wonderful position for Year 2 teacher to be in next year. More importantly, the Year 1 children are building an incredibly strong platform at the right age. As the saying goes, a house is only as strong as its foundation. We are building learners for life at EIS.
