2. Description of the Related Art
Vanadium catalyst is widely used in various catalytic reactions such as oxidation, dehydrogenation, and hydrogenation. In particular, a vanadium catalyst containing potassium vanadate as a main component is used for preparation of polyvinyl acetate having superior physical properties. Further, the vanadium catalyst is used in various application fields because of high catalytic activity.
In particular, in case of preparing a highly active polymerization catalyst, it is necessary to use a vanadium compound that is superior in stability and catalyst-activity, and has a satisfactory content of vanadium in catalyst components.
For example, in the patent document 1, there is disclosed a method of preparing a vanadium catalyst comprising the steps of hydrolyzing a tetravalent vanadium compound in a solution containing potassium hydroxide and then reducing the resultant to a state of tetravalent vanadium metal, and then contacting the resultant vanadium metal with a solid particulate organic acid. According to this method, a catalyst having superior activity at low temperature can be prepared, and has a content of vanadium of 1.0 to 4.0 wt %.
Further, in the patent document 2, there is disclosed a method of preparing a catalyst comprising the step of contacting a titanium compound and a vanadium compound with a solid alkali or alkaline earth metal compound.
