This plugin integrates into ImageJ the geodesic length calculations
  for a label image. Furthermore, it enables you to calculate the
  chamfer distance and the radius of the particles. This plugin uses
  a novel image processing method for calculating the geodesic diameter
  of the label images.

Pokemon Go Fest had a twist: fans were able to get the much-coveted Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire versions of one of the game’s strongest and most sought-after species: Mew.
But fans soon discovered the Mew wasn’t going to grant them eternal life. The smartphone game does not provide life-like features, so Mew in the wild has no heart, is prone to sleeping, and, of course, can only be found on a smartphone.
Then shortly before midnight Saturday, the rare Pokemon showed up in a heavily populated area of downtown Seattle, according to two users, who both told GeekWire they managed to capture it while driving their cars.
“I just picked it up in front of me in broad daylight,” said a user in a Facebook post that has since been made private. “It's good that I've never been anywhere where I wouldn't see it.”
Pokemon Go Fest was expected to bring in more than 10,000 people to Seattle’s West Seattle park this past weekend for the most recent Pokémon event. But the event also seemed to encourage hackers to download the game, where they were able to access some users’ personal information.
The hacking problem became so bad that the Seattle Police Department issued a warning to players about the so-called “Pokemon Go” Threat. It cautioned players that they might be “wasting valuable time and resources trying to catch a virtual version of one of your favorite video games.”
“The use of your phone while playing the game in public is a distraction to you and others and is an unsafe practice that will likely result in a ‘fright,’ injury or worse,” the message stated.
The Pokemon Go Fest also seemed to highlight just how much a single Pokemon can mean to fans. After the Mew was captured Saturday, a similar user posted a picture on Facebook of their “new baby.”

Usage
Step 1: Generate a normalized label image.
- The 1 is calculated by the normalized grey values of the label.
- The 0 is obtained by using histogram intersection to count the foreground and the background pixels.
Step 2: The label image is thresholded and binarized.
- First of all, the binary image is smoothed using an opening operation with 5x5 pixels.
- Then, the minimum and maximum value is obtained in the radius of the circle with area 2*pi*r. A picture of the binary image is made. Then, the image is divided into the foreground and background. Finally, a smooth contour is found using a foreground/background difference of image with 3 x 3 pixels.
Step 3: Convert the binary image to a mask image.
- Here, the foreground pixels are given by a 0 and the background pixels by a 1.
Step 4: Convert to the radius image.
- Here, 0 corresponds to a 0 and 1 to a 1.
- The mask image is thresholded.
- The image is smoothed by applying a 0 to 255 grey filter with a 3 x 3 pixel kernel.
- The masked region of the radius image is fitted to the mask. Finally, the mean grey value is computed.
Step 5: Calculate the geodesic distance.
- The geodesic distance is calculated by integrating the geodesic length.
- The geodesic length is determined by each pixel's position on the circle with area 2*pi*r.
- The coordinate system is determined by the radius. The pixels on the circle are numbered.
- This pixel has the value that corresponds to the mean grey value of the entire image.
- The shortest path between two pixels.
- The value in [0, 10].
- The larger the geodesic distance, the more sensitive the image.
- Different geodesic paths contribute to the final image. Therefore, if you change the threshold, the final image changes.
Step 6: Determine the diameter of the particles.
- In this step, all particles are split into two groups, blue dots and red dots.
- Red dots are filtered by area using ImageJ particle filter plug-in.
- Blue dots are not filtered by using the "Min of Max" with a threshold of 10%.
