At its basic, the purpose of this program is simple. It's a batch extraction method for e-mail client backups, with a two-mode action that allows you to back up just contacts from e-mail messages, or contacts plus e-mail messages.
I selected the contacts option, with a free sample of 10MB of contact data. The app backup procedure was quite fast, and the backup data was extracted in my usual FTP destination.
In the case of backup, the purpose of this program is to make bulk backups of your contacts from all your e-mails, including both messages and contacts, without having to go through the hassle of defining each one of them.
I selected this option because it's a software that's well-suited for this purpose. It's also what I needed, for the moment.
Unless you know for certain where and in what format your contacts are stored, I would suggest that you select the contacts option, like I did. That's what I did, and I was happily surprised when I saw that it worked pretty good for me.

Hopefully, most e-mail clients share the same format when it comes to importing contacts into their database. For the case of Yahoo, this was done without having to give much of a thought to the actual format. If you're using other clients, such as Outlook or Windows Live Mail, then you may want to use the provided wizard feature and let it extract your contacts by selecting your contacts folder.
If you're looking for more specific contact settings, you can use the advanced or export filter settings, as well. Your contacts will be individually extracted or saved as you wish.
