What is Twitch Item Flood?
Twitch Item Flood (or Flood for short) is a program that streamers can use to give their viewers the ability to flood the stream with various items, on demand. It's a simple app to use, yet the possibilities are surprisingly much-expanded, depending on how you set it up.
This program was initially developed by a streamer, and it's goal is to enable the viewers to interact with the streamer as easily as possible. To achieve that goal, it automatically delivers items to the streamer, depending on the viewers actions.
It's a pretty cool concept, and it's a streamer's toy.
Getting the streamer in the action
There are two ways of getting your streamer involved in this whole concept:
Put the streamer through the OBS setup's Game Capture source and use the Twitch Item Flood program as it's Game Capture source's transparancy.
Use the Twitch Item Flood program and manually authorize the streamer's broadcast in OBS.
The key to the latter method is that you get to control the behavior of the program. This is important, since it affects the Streamer's Viewer Experience.
1. Put the streamer in the action via OBS' Game Capture source
Step 1
When you add a program as a Game Capture source in OBS, it'll automatically be launched every time the streamer is in the action. In other words, it's a way to give your streamer the ability to see what's happening on the stream while he's on it, whether he's in the streaming software or not.
You can always go back to the previously used program when in need of that kind of visual aid.
Step 2
Now that the streamer's in the action, how do you get him involved in the stream?
There are two ways:
Toggle the transparency of the Twitch Item Flood program to zero. You won't be able to see what's happening anymore, except when the streamer's in the action. The program will proceed regardless.
