Golden Ears Free
The Golden Ears application is designed to help the user practice and improve their ear training.
Golden Ears can be used to evaluate a person's hearing sensitivities and waveform analysis skills.
Because Golden Ears uses a pink noise signal, users can see all frequencies (so, no computer screen is necessary), and they are not limited to hearing a single frequency range.
Golden Ears uses a range of 6 octaves, starting from 500 Hz to 12,000 Hz.
Because the user can find the frequency range that corresponds to their hearing, Golden Ears can be used for ear training.
When you use Golden Ears you should be

Try to guess the missing octave
Compare the guessed frequency range with the actual frequency range used

What can I expect when using Golden Ears?
As mentioned above, you will be able to hear all the frequencies using Golden Ears.  Because of this, you should be able to learn how to distinguish frequencies, even if you do not previously know what a given frequency sounds like.
In short, Golden Ears is an incredibly useful tool for practicing and improving one's hearing.
How does Golden Ears work?
As mentioned above, Golden Ears uses a pink noise test signal, which
gives you the exact frequency ranges you are expected to hear.
Because Golden Ears uses a pink noise, it will provide you with all the frequencies that you are sensitive to, even if you do not
have any prior knowledge of specific frequencies. This means you should be able to quickly learn how to identify various
frequency ranges.
How can I use Golden Ears for practice?
The Golden Ears program is designed for practice and education, as well as for evaluation of one's hearing and waveform
analysis skills.
As mentioned above, you can use Golden Ears to:
Guess the missing octave
Listen to and evaluate various frequency ranges, to make sure the user's hearing is as good as possible
Compare the user's hearing with the expected hearing of a person of the same age

Golden Ears is a tool for practicing and improving hearing skills.

Golden Ears is an easy to use application that will analyze the FFT of the pink noise and highlight the frequency range that you are most likely to hear wrong.
In the example below, orange highlights frequency ranges that you may be hearing wrongly.
