I dont know anything about ur box, but u should use the microsoft update utility. it will update ur bios as well as the windows-loader so that u wont have that issue.
I am unable to boot into a 64 bit Win 7 installation. The installation of Windows was completed and my desktop was running, but I could not access any folders. I re-installed the bootloader, but was still not able to access my system folders.
What I did was followed the steps here:
I do not have an external HD/DVD drive, but my laptop does have a VMDK storage file on it. This file was created by me during the installation of Windows 7, so I assume that it is OK to use.
I also have a USB flash drive, but I do not know if it will be allowed. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

You may have a problem with the VHD file, as its content is not readable by Windows 7.
The VHD file has no application like disk manager to read the content of it (I only know DiskPart (as a command line tool) to do this). 
So, try to convert your VHD file to an actual disk or a physical drive, either by using R/W tools or by using the BitLocker-TPM (or equivalent) of your disk.
Please do this on your main (a.k.a. "production") disk.
Please note that this is for technical use only (in case you have any issue, you should be able to recover it by reading the manual of R/W tools or by consulting your notebook/system manufacturer).
