"Invalid JSON primitive 'is'": "Google.Protobuf.Js.FormatException"
I've been stuck on this for quite some time, so I decided to post this question. The issue I have is that I am consuming an API that returns some json to me (among other things). However, when I am consuming it, I get the following error:
Invalid JSON primitive 'is'
This error is being thrown in the following context:
JsonParser.ParseJson(ref JsonParser.DefaultOptions options, JsonTextReader reader, Encoding encoding, JsonSerializer serializer)
    {
        reader = reader?? throw new ArgumentNullException(nameof(reader));
        encoding = encoding?? throw new ArgumentNullException(nameof(encoding));
        options = options?? throw new ArgumentNullException(nameof(options));
        serializer = serializer?? throw new ArgumentNullException(nameof(serializer));
        return JsonParser.ParseJson(ref options, reader, encoding, serializer);
    }
I am able to consume this same data if I create my own custom message (I get this error when trying to consume the data with the default message) so the issue is with the service (or API). I am using Protocol Buffers for the service. I believe it might have something to do with my Android app using a Google.Protobuf.Js.FormatException - so I am using protobuf-net in my android project. I can convert the bytes I receive to string, but that doesn't seem to work either.
I am able to see the bytes with the following:
var bytes = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(json);
var bytes2 = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(json);
Now the issue I am getting is if I have an error in the json, I get this error. I have tried my best to update the protobuf-net to use the latest.proto file and that didn't seem to work. I have also tried to remove my custom message from
