Dear Parents,
We have just two weeks left before we close for the winter holiday. Two very busy weeks lie ahead and I would like to bring the following to your attention:

Secretary/Admissions Officer:

Please be advised that, for personal reasons, Ms Lena Annushkina has resigned and vacated her position as EIS West's secretary and admissions officer. We are in the process of recruiting a new secretary/admissions officer. In the interim, Ms Katya Parfenenko, Business Development Manager, will act as EIS West's secretary/admissions officer until a new person is appointed.

End-of-term Arrangements:

Please be reminded that the school calendar has been amended and school will close on Friday, 17th December. Term One reports will be emailed to parents on Wednesday, 15th December. Should you require a printed report, kindly contact your child’s class teacher.

End-of-term Assessment:

As we approach the end of Term One, in addition to ongoing formative assessment, pupils will also write Bug Club Reading Tests, and Abacus Arithmetic and Problem-solving Tests.

Afternoon Activity Clubs:

Afternoon club activities will end today, after thirteen weeks of exciting club programmes, offered by teachers and visiting club trainers. Club activities will resume on Monday, 17th January 2022.

Trans-Siberian Winter Express Concert:

Our virtual Winter Concert, titled ‘The Trans-Siberian Winter Express’, is scheduled to be staged on Tuesday, 14th December, after a full dress rehearsal on Monday, 13th December. Teachers and pupils are rehearsing regularly, and costumes, sets and props are being prepared in readiness for this exciting event!
A videographer will video the Winter Concert and copies will be sent to parents.
Please note that it is very important for pupils to be present in order to participate in our Winter Concert.

Winter Concert Video - Reminder:

Please be reminded that Ms Anna, our Music teacher, is organising a Winter Concert video recording of individual pupils singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". Thank you to the many pupils who have already submitted video recordings! If you have a query about this home assignment, kindly contact Ms Anna.

Student Council Christmas Charity Appeal -Reminder:

Please be reminded of our Student Council’s Christmas Charity Appeal. Thank you to the many pupils who have donated gifts to bring Christmas cheer to others, less fortunate than themselves.

Year 6 Parents and Pupils Visit to EIS SW Secondary School - Reminder:

EIS West Year 6 parents and pupils are reminded to take advantage of the Year 6 Open Evening of the Secondary School at EIS SW on Thursday, 9th December at 16:30. Please note that the EIS Secondary School is oversubscribed in many year groups, so it is important to visit the school and reserve a place for your child for 2022/23.

New EIS Website:

We are busy upgrading our school’s website and would like to upload new photographs of pupil activities. As a photographer will take photographs of pupils on Friday, 10th December, we request that all pupils come smartly dressed in school uniform on Friday, next week.
