In essence it's a collection of simple C programs implementing the DIS PDU (PDU Protocol Data Unit)
protocol, the ones used by the industry for the simulation of complex systems and by D.I.S. (distributed interactive simultor)
for distributing and running interactive simulations.
It is a wrapper on top of Open Source Tcl/Tk and R programs (called aquarium and aquarius respectively), making it a very
straightforward, open, platform-independent and low-cost solution for distributed interactive simulations.

executors. The standard object for representing a program in the Aquarius D.I.S. framework is the PDU that
can be manipulated by the different message handling routines.
