In a mobile object drive unit using a drive motor, a position detection sensor, such as a pulse encoder, is generally mounted on a movable body to detect the actual position of the movable body. When the position of a movable body is detected by a sensor, the motor is driven to rotate the movable body at a constant speed based on the detection result.
For example, when a movable body such as a robot grasps an object by using two or more fingers, the rotation of the fingers can be prevented by holding the movable body by the other hand. However, the grasped object may move slightly when the drive motor is stopped. In this case, the positional offset of the movable body caused by the movement of the object must be corrected.
