This is her first big budget Kannada movie which is produced under Bhadravati Movies and was distributed by UTV motion pictures. Pawan Kumar was well known for his directorial ventures like Kopala Kanam, Ramayya, Ondane and Achari. He started writing the script in August 2015 and shot the film from January to July 2016.
The film revolves around five friends who are called for a party to celebrate the death anniversary of one of them's grandfather. On their way to a local  night club, they meet a woman named Shilpa, who takes them to a remote forest. The next day the five of them find themselves in another such forest. After staying there for sometime, they come across three women whom they suspect to be possessed by ghost.

Production
Development 
Shraddha Srinath has always been the face of UTV motion pictures and Bhadravati movies and since 2013 she has had almost all of their productions. In 2014, she made her acting debut with Kopala Kanam, a horror-comedy film that Pawan Kumar produced. After that she acted in a few short films before making her big budget Kannada film debut with a horror-comedy film Mahaparsa in 2016. Mahaparsa, released on the UTV Motion pictures banner, was one of the first productions by Bhadravati movies in which she was given a leading role. Pawan Kumar had made Shraddha Srinath wait for two years before signing her for a role in his next film, U Turn. A single scene was shot in August 2015, and the first song was shot in February 2016. The first look of the film was released in October 2016.
