There was no in-hospital mortality and there were no statistical differences between the two groups in respect of hospital stay and preoperative complications such as unstable angina, hypertension and angina class III-IV. However, there was a higher incidence of postoperative complications in the PTCA group. One patient (2%) with PTCA developed transient myocardial infarction. Five (11.2%) patients with PTCA had restenosis. Three (6.7%) patients with PTCA had a non-fatal myocardial infarction, while none (0%) patients in the CABG group had a non-fatal myocardial infarction. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in respect of late mortality.
