Dear all,

Welcome to the EIS Newsletter, Issue No. 18!

An interesting week as usual, this time on the back of a highly successful International Day. Again, thank you to all involved for the wonderful activities, presentations and more!

This week, I am glad to announce, had three Headteacher Awards. Here is the list:

Lily Y10

Minato had been learning about child inventors in Y3, so what can you do but to invent something yourself, right? Well, that is what happened. Minato showed me her invention which consists of two tooth brushes attached to a central peg which allows it to pincer objects including tables, crockery, cutlery and even teeth. I have attached a photo so you can see for yourselves. Her brother, Kosei was awarded his HTA for high level maths, he completed 41 angles in about 20 minutes. What a family!

Lily continues to donate high-end English language books to EIS and contribute to the wider school community. As a result, we have created an extra mini library for EYFS and KS1 and freed up more space in our central library. To fill that space, we had Secondary students transfer books from upstairs that had been gathering dust back into the welcoming arms of our school bookworms! Thank you, Mr. Woods, for your support in this fine endeavour. By the way, are you standing on your tip toes in that photo?

Ultimately, the aforementioned represents a general maneuver to make sure our school premises represent the superb abilities of our students and teaching staff. Myself, Mr. Reddy and Mr. Marsh have recently undertaken classroom inspections so we have plans in place to further improve our settings. Secondary students, in particular, are relied and counted upon to take ownership and apply a bit of muscle to the proceedings. They are doing a good job! I recently conducted a 'book look' to make sure all of the work from students and feedback from teachers continues to move in the same direction.

Mr. Fred has asked year groups to elect 'Light Monitors' as part of our eco-school status. I am glad to announce many have already been counted and we have our own monitors whom will do their bit for the environment. Congratulations to the following:
