Informatik Scan enables the user to quickly scan pictures and document images, view them as thumbnails and optionally save them as files in a variety of image and document formats.
Informatik Scan provides all these functions and more in a user-friendly graphic user interface. The software is completely integrated into the Windows operating system and requires no special configuration or drivers.
Informatik Scan can be used to scan black and white pictures, color pictures, drawings and diagrams, documents, receipts, checks and drawings, as well as many other types of images. In the process, one image at a time, Informatik Scan automatically selects the proper scan resolution and has a de-scan option to preview the data prior to saving it.
The scanned image is displayed and can be saved as a single or multipage compressed TIFF file or in many other common graphics formats, including JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP.
Informatik Scan supports these features and more. With a scan button you can instantly make a digital copy. You can also save the image, without the need for any special settings on your device, as a PDF.
Compatibility The software scans images according to the TWAIN standard and can be used with all TWAIN-compliant scanners. Optional addon for PDF support is available.
In this context, "TWAIN" refers to the TWAIN Image Technology Association, founded in 1992 by Hewlett Packard, Intel, Microsoft, Ricoh and others.
The software is completely integrated into the Windows operating system and requires no special configuration or drivers. The user interface was created from the ground up so that it looks and acts completely consistent with Windows.
From the main scan window there is also a choice of modes such as Convert to TIFF, Convert to PDF, or Export to TIFF, GIF, PNG, PDF and BMP files. These modes work with any type of scanner and can be easily customized to fit the user's specific needs.
Customization Informatik Scan allows the user to create and save customized sets of options and special settings for each kind of image, and with these custom settings save time and effort in the future. Custom settings can be saved in a personal folder in the user's computer or sent to an FTP server.
