For those who know fail2ban, it might come as a surprise that there is a Windows version of the popular Linux utility. EvlWatcher Product Key is an application created by an unknown developer that simply does what it says on the tin. The simple rule builder allows the user to specify a list of addresses that should be banned after some number of attempts. One rule excludes attempted login attempts. The other filters out attempts from a known bot.
Guidelines
EvlWatcher presents a list of suspicious IP addresses. The list of addresses provided by the application is based on the same Blacklist database used by fail2ban. The unique thing about EvlWatcher is that it checks the event logs for attempted file downloads (HTTP and FTP) and certain network activity (IP and network spoofing), detects Windows and Linux-based systems, and uses the list of locations provided by Google (IP addresses that have been blacklisted).

If the host names are part of the top 500 offender list, then EvlWatcher will ban all of them on startup.
