Google News, a free database powered by Google, provides up-to-date news stories from a variety of news sources. Conducting a specific search in Google leads to a page filled with a world of information in a variety of formats; filters, such as exact phrase, has words, excludes words, and dates are also available to help narrow these searches. 
Activity: Students can conduct searches for both “COVID-19” and "The Spanish Flu;" they will have the option to view up- to-the minute news, latest updates, statistical maps of the spread of the virus, economic impact, reopenings and closings, timelines for the pandemic, in-depth coverage, and much more; selecting any of these options allows researchers to view quotes, brief summaries,  full coverage articles, or videos. Students can utilize Google News to narrow down specific areas of interest and choose relevant sources for their research.
