Overview

Off the coast of Maui, the largest turtle in the world can be found peacefully gliding among the rocks. The green Hawaiian sea turtle makes itself available to curious humans. That one can come so close to such a large creature in the wild, without any reaction on the animal's part and in the middle of the Pacific is a source of amazement. The photos, except for the last two, follow a temporal sequence that lasted just seven minutes. The Haikus, told from the point of view the creature, engage us with the animal's rhythms.
