More than 25,000 tickets were sold at a price of Rs 15 (not including the seva charges), which means we have helped more than 5,000 passengers. If we do it continuously, we will soon get more people using the trains," said a senior official from the SWRTC.
The new system is expected to be introduced at all suburban stations except Katra, which has its own inbuilt ticket system.
The new system will be more vigilant for ticket takers and will provide quick response to anyone in a hurry.
It will also help the staff decide whether a passenger is eligible for the cashless ticketing policy.
"The way we do it now, whenever we issue a ticket, we record the passenger information in the system and if we find any discrepancy, we are not supposed to issue the ticket.
