Dear Parents,
Term One is over! What a busy term it’s been! Please take note of the following end-of-term announcements:

Term One Reports:

Term One reports were emailed to parents on Thursday, 16th December. Printed reports were issued parents who requested them today.
Should you wish to discuss your child’s report, please let his/her class teacher know.

Star of the Term Assembly:

It is a tradition at EIS West to award Star of the Term certificates to a pupil in every class for their outstanding achievements and progress during Term One. Congratulations to our Stars of the Term!

Trans-Siberian Winter Express Concert:

The staging of ‘The Trans-Siberian Winter Express’ went ahead as planned on Tuesday, 14th December. Year 2 performed splendidly on board the Italian coach, Year 3 on the Chinese coach, Year 4 on the Korean coach, and Year 6 on the French coach. Beautiful backdrops, costumes, props and, especially, hearty singing of Christmas songs made each performance truly memorable! It is such a pity that, due to infection prevention measures, parents were unable to see the Winter Concert live! Photographs of the four performances are included in this newsletter.
As so many pupils were absent due to illness, we have invited the videographer to return to school on Tuesday, 18th January to give Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 5 the opportunity to stage their performances. Once the video has been edited, copies of the Winter Concert will be sent to parents.

Football Match between EIS West and South-West:

The football team from EIS South-West visited our campus on Monday, 13th December to play l matches against EIS West football team. Two games were played with each team winning a game. Besides enjoying the opportunity to compete on the football pitch, the teams were pleased to interact with each other, both before and after the football matches!

Student Council Christmas Charity Appeal:

Representatives of Diema’s Dream Fund visited our school yesterday to collect the many gifts, donated by our pupils. Before taking them, our classes posed in the lobby for photographs, some of which are included in this newsletter. We are confident that our beautifully-wrapped gifts will bring Christmas cheer to so many people, less fortunate than ourselves.

Please be reminded that Term Two begins on Monday, 10th January 2022 at 8:30 a.m.
