Welcome to EIS Newsletter - 2024/25 - Issue No. 2!

We are got off to a great start last week and we continue to motor forward with positive intent. For instance, here is the list of the Secondary House Captains (Y11), congratulations gang!

I am also happy to announce that I awarded my first Headteacher's Award of the year and it went to Varya (Barbara) in Y5! She has been with us for many years, including in my classroom, and so I am very happy to see the seal being broken by this particular student. I awarded the HTA to Varya for reinforcing the rules to new starters about not running in the corridor, but she did it in the most mature and endearing way - she did not know I could hear the exchange. Well done, young lady!

In other news, we had our very first DofE recruitment drive this morning. I enjoyed co-leading the event along with Mr. Marsh and our new esteemed colleague, Mr. Langdon. He generously shared his Gold Award video with us all and it was amazing; the team were building an orphanage in Sri Lanka, no less!

Next week, I will have the pleasure of observing our new teachers as part of the EIS Performance Management process. I am incredibly excited as what I have seen so far, and the information I am receiving, they are performing at a very high standard! I also had the pleasure of sitting in with Primary teacher's this week and taking part in the planning workshop. Again, excellent standard.
