NNote is a simple-to-use word processing tool that aims to replace the Notepad application found in Windows by default. It can be easily used by novices.
The interface of the application is familiar and simple to navigate through. Plain text documents can be opened by using the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported.
So, you can cut, copy, paste and select all text, enable word wrapping mode, as well as change the font style and size, along with background and text color. And that's about it.
The application runs on a very low amount of system resources, has a good response time, supports keyboard shortcuts and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. However, the tool offers extremely limited features. Plus, we were not able to use the undo and redo functions by clicking them in the "Edit" menu (but the hotkeys work flawlessly).
On top of that, we couldn't access the help file (the option was not clickable). The fact of the matter is that NNote is not suitable for a complete word processing tool (let alone Notepad replacement), since it lacks a wide variety of features. In this case, we can only suggest you look for something more advanced than this software.

NNote allows the user to access the following options: Text tools, Formatting, Undo and Redo, Print, NNotes and AutoSave. Let's take a look at each of them.
Text tools
The NNote application features a wide variety of tools in the text tools submenu. Take a look at what each of them does:
- The font tool lets you specify the default font used in your documents (for example, the body text of the document, headings and sub headings).
- The font size tool lets you increase or decrease the font size (size of text, title and sub-title) by using the mouse wheel or the arrow keys.
- The format tool enables you to modify text appearance (color, background, size, position, etc.). You can use the keyboard shortcuts to select the entire text and format it, while holding down the control key, or select text then hold down the control key to remove or alter the formatting.
- The alignment tool lets you tweak the text alignment along two or three axes.
- The text wrap tool enables you to detect text that should be wrapped, typically if it reaches a specified length, or doesn't fit on the desired width.
- The bullet tool lets you insert unordered lists of items to be used in a document as bullets.
- The numbering tool lets you format numbers and the numbering of text.
- The table tool enables you to create a table (it includes row and column separators).
- The highlight tool allows you to emphasize text, similar to bold text.
- The align center tool enables you to center the text on the document.
Formatting
The formatting submenu of the NNote application features options for changing text appearance. In this case, we'll concentrate only on the Background and Color options, as well as Text Size options.
- The background color lets you select the color of the background (wallpaper), but not affect text appearance.
- The text color lets you select the color for the text.
Text size
The text size tool lets you increase or decrease the size of text (as well as of the rest of the document). As for the former option, the highlight tool is enabled here, so you can use it to resize the whole document.
