Welcome to EIS Newsletter - 2024/25 - Issue No. 3!

Well, what a delightful week. I had the pleasure of watching Mr. Mathioudakis teach his Y10 cohort Mathematics this week. His use of technology was very impressive and I enjoyed the session, greatly. Likewise, Mr. Merritt taught a wonderfully engaging Psychology lesson to his Y12 class with some incredibly fascinating concepts being discussed, especially around the area of perception. In Primary, what better way for me to end the week then to see Mr. Langdon's wonderful Y4 group in action. High levels of success also in abundance in that lesson as well. Thank you, teachers!

I am also happy to announce that I awarded only my second Headteacher's Award of the year and it went to Eden in Y1! I awarded the HTA for outstanding academic achievements in his English. Although, it sounds like his performance is impressing Ms. Martin in multiple areas. To highlight the extent of his performance, Eden was recently moved from Reception to Year 1 despite being not quite of age which can be challenging enough, but he actually was in Ms. Martins's Y1/Y2 mix when he accomplished his great work. Not only did he perform at a Y2 level but also competed with the high flyers of that year-group. Absolutely remarkable, well done, Eden! Keep it up!

One of our leavers came into school this week. He is about to return to his native Brunei and embark on the next phase of his journey in further education. Ammar is currently in the process of enrolling in a Malaysian university and we wish him the greatest of successes. We know he will achieve, just as he did with us. Ammar spent two days with his mother preparing food for the teachers at EIS and brought in many home-cooked delights. The chicken was my personal favourite. Ammar, thank you, and all the best of luck for the future!

Finally, we have announced out Student Council reps for the EIS academic year 2024-25. We are just dotting a few of the 'i's' and crossing a few of the 't's', as they say. Representatives will be announced in next week's edition. Stay tuned!
