Staffing update
At this time of year, it is always exciting to announce the arrival of new staff at Britannica.  We are always focused on recruiting excellent teachers to the Britannica team but also look carefully for those with the character attributes to fit in well within our community. Due to the growth in KS4 and 5 in recent years, in addition to replacing our leavers, we are delighted to announce that we have recruited three extra staff to the secondary phase of the school. Two additions come in the core subjects of Maths and English. This is designed to support with extra groups and sets in many year groups, giving students even more opportunity to progress quickly in these areas. The third addition comes in Humanities where, we have added two new subjects (Philosophy and Ethics and Global Perspectives) to our ever popular Humanities ( currently Geography and History) provision. As part of our continuous curriculum review process, we identified the need to expand in this area.  We will also be offering IGCSE PE for the first time next year!
The arrival of new staff is always tinged with the sadness of having to say goodbye to our leavers.  It is so disappointing that we will not be able to all meet together in assembly and as a staff group to say a 'proper' thank you.  I know I speak for all the students, parents and staff in wishing you all the best for the future.  Thank you for all that you have given to Britannica over the last few years.  You will be missed!
