Welcome to the EIS Newsletter - 2024/25 - Issue No. 12!

I think we need to say well done to our Secondary students as they have been doing their internal exams this week and they have really applied themselves. From my office, I have been watching many of them take books outside to revise and recap any learning, which shows dedication and commitment. I will find out a bit more next week when I have a look at the final results which will be correlated. I was impressed by Science results in KS3/KS4, under Ms. Namratha, whom I chatted with extensively on Wednesday afternoon. Well done Mr. Reddy and the team for their tight timetables and thorough invigilation processes. It was nice to be able to release the students to do Christmas decorations on Friday afternoon, they had certainly earned it!

Mr. Bell invited me to his Maths lesson with Y3 this week and, I must say, it was an excellent session. I was very impressed by the learning ion display and the contributions from the children. I look forward to seeing another subject some time. I know they have done great work on the Vikings and settlements in History and Geography relatively recently. Mr. Langdon also did an excellent job leading the Primary assembly this week which was centred round the importance of exercise. The assembly pivoted around the story of one very resilient British athlete whose story I was not aware of. Very inspiring.

Thank you to all of the parents whom have come in this week to meet with parents and chat about student progress. I thoroughly enjoy the occasion as I get to chat with parents I have not seen in some time or have not yet had the pleasure of meeting. I think the Secondary event was the largest I have seen but that may not be too surprising when you look at the size of our Y10 class! It's about 20 now, I think, or close enough. Thank you, teachers, for working hard and performing well in this area once again.

Mark Y6 - for being resilient and steadfast in the face of challenges
Kamil Y5 - for an excellent answer in Mr. Daglish's recent presentation regarding Vasili Arkhipov
